BTS announce 2026–2027 world tour and new album after four-year hiatus

Global K-pop sensation BTS has announced a massive 79-date world tour, marking their return to the stage after a four-year break. The tour, kicking off on April 9, 2026, in Goyang, South Korea, will span Asia, Europe, America, and Oceania, with additional dates planned for 2027. Major stops include London, Tokyo, Madrid, Munich, Sydney, and Los Angeles. The concerts will feature a 360-degree stage setup to maximize seating capacity and visibility. Ticket sales open for fans on January 22, followed by the general public two days later.

The comeback follows the end of the group’s mandatory military service, with Suga completing his 18-month duty in mid-2025 as the last member to return. Their previous world tour in 2018 grossed roughly $246 million, and current projections suggest this new tour—alongside merchandise, album sales, and streaming revenue—could generate over $1 billion for BTS and their label, BigHit/Hybe. The announcement of their new, yet-untitled album, due on March 26, 2026, reportedly caused fan platform Weverse to crash due to overwhelming demand.

Members have described the new project as a culmination of their solo experiences during the hiatus, promising renewed energy and maturity in both their music and performances. BTS expressed gratitude to their fans, known as ARMY, through handwritten letters, underscoring their commitment to delivering meaningful new memories in 2026 and beyond.
