Lil Nas X pleads not guilty to felony charges after Los Angeles arrest

Rapper Lil Nas X, born Montero Lamar Hill, was charged with four felonies in Los Angeles following his arrest last week. The charges include three counts of felony battery with injury to a police officer and one count of felony resisting an executive officer. The incident occurred after police responded to reports of him walking nearly naked on Ventura Boulevard, where he allegedly assaulted officers trying to take him into custody, causing injuries to at least three. Following a possible overdose, he was hospitalized and later released on bail set at $75,000 after pleading not guilty at his arraignment. If convicted, Lil Nas X could face up to five years in state prison. The Los Angeles District Attorney emphasized that assaulting police officers endangers public safety and results in serious consequences, regardless of the accused’s fame. The court also imposed drug treatment conditions as part of his release. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for mid-September.
