Little Simz delivers dynamic and joyous live performance at Co-Op Live, Manchester

Little Simz, the North London rapper and hip-hop visionary, showcased her talent and charisma in a captivating live performance at the Co-Op Live arena in Manchester. Balancing confidence and humility, she radiated joy and gratitude while tackling personal and professional challenges through powerful lyrics. The show dynamically shifted from full-arena singalongs to funk-infused grooves and energetic Detroit techno vibes, highlighting her versatility. Highlights included the skanking rhythms of ‘Enough,’ featuring bassist Marla Kether’s distinctive post-punk basslines, and the viral fan-favourite ‘Venom’ enhanced by acid-green strobe lights. Simz herself took over as DJ during the EP Drop 7 section, transforming the setting into an intimate club atmosphere with techno beats. The encore featured the standout track ‘Gorilla’ from Glastonbury, using classic Yardie sound system style that had the crowd on their feet. Throughout the show, Simz’s lyrical skill and stage presence confirmed her rightful position at the forefront of Black British music.
