Lorde Releases New Album ‘Virgin’ After Four Years, Touring This Fall

Lorde has officially released her highly anticipated album, ‘Virgin,’ marking her return after a four-year break since ‘Solar Power’ in 2021. The album’s lead singles, ‘What Was That,’ ‘Man of the Year,’ and ‘Hammer,’ have already made an impact, with ‘What Was That’ charting at number 36 on Billboard’s Hot 100 and surpassing 80 million streams on Spotify. ‘Virgin’ also continues Lorde’s collaboration with producer Jim-E Stack, who co-wrote and produced much of the album, alongside other contributors like Dan Nigro and Buddy Ross. The album follows the more divisive ‘Solar Power’ and is expected to reach a wider audience. Fans have already shown excitement, as the release has led to a resurgence in the popularity of older tracks like ‘Ribs.’ Lorde has opened up about the complexities of balancing her artist identity with her private life, discussing how her return to New Zealand helps her disconnect from her career. She will be embarking on her Ultrasound World Tour in the fall, with many dates already sold out, beginning on September 17th at the Moody Center in Austin. This marks an exciting chapter for the New Zealand artist as she prepares for a major comeback on stage.
