Martin Garrix Appreciates Metallica for Supplying New Stage Parts After Tomorrowland Fire

After a fire destroyed the original stage of Tomorrowland just days before the festival’s opening, Martin Garrix expressed his gratitude to Metallica for supplying crucial parts to reconstruct the main stage. The fire broke out on July 16, leaving organizers and the Tomorrowland team scrambling to salvage the event. With over 70,000 attendees expected, there were doubts whether the festival could go on. However, Metallica’s team came to the rescue, providing parts from their ‘WorldWired’ tour stage. The equipment, stored in Austria after their European tour, was airlifted overnight to Belgium, enabling the festival to proceed. Garrix, who performed on the festival’s rescheduled stage, posted a heartfelt message on Instagram, thanking both the Tomorrowland crew and Metallica for their support. Despite the earlier fire’s damage, which had caused chaos on-site, the festival was able to open successfully. The incident was described as apocalyptic by one employee, with a massive fire threatening nearby homes and forests. As of now, the cause of the fire remains unclear, but some suggest pyrotechnics might have played a role. Garrix is also gearing up for a major performance in London this August.
