Metallica Comes to the Rescue of Tomorrowland Festival After Fire Destroys Main Stage

Metallica stepped up to save Tomorrowland Festival in Belgium after a massive fire destroyed its main stage. The fire broke out on Wednesday, threatening the festival’s ability to proceed as planned. Metallica, who had stored parts of their stage setup from their European tour in Austria, offered to provide their equipment, which included a large wall of screens. The festival organizers worked overnight to airlift the rig to the site. Thanks to Metallica’s quick action, Tomorrowland was able to open on Friday, July 19th, as scheduled. Festival spokesperson Debby Wilmsen expressed her disbelief, calling it a ‘miracle’ that they could open on time. Headliner Martin Garrix shared his gratitude on Instagram, acknowledging the efforts of both Tomorrowland’s team and Metallica. The collaboration has made this year’s Tomorrowland the most unique edition in its history. Metallica’s M72 world tour will continue in November, with their European return slated for May 2026.
