Metallica Announces Six-Date UK and Ireland Tour for Summer 2026

Metallica, the legendary heavy metal band, has announced a six-date tour across the UK and Ireland as part of their ongoing M72 world tour. The band will kick off their UK leg with two performances in Dublin on June 19 and 21, 2026, followed by a show at Glasgow’s Hampden Park on June 25. They will then move to Cardiff’s Principality Stadium on June 28, before concluding with two concerts at the London Stadium on July 2 and 5. These shows mark Metallica’s first UK appearances since their headline set at the Download festival in 2023. The M72 tour, which began four years ago, supports their eleventh studio album, ’72 Seasons,’ released in 2023, and has already covered Europe and North America, with upcoming dates in Australia, New Zealand, and the Middle East. Notably, the Dublin and London dates will feature ‘no repeat’ shows, offering fans different setlists and opening acts each night. Gojira and Knocked Loose will open on the first night in Dublin and the second in London, while Pantera and Avatar will support on the alternate nights. Gojira and Knocked Loose will also support in Glasgow and Cardiff. This will be Metallica’s first performance in Cardiff since 1996 and their first in Glasgow since 2017. Tickets go on sale to the public on May 30, with fan club pre-sales starting on May 27.
