Steve Stevens Partners with Ciari Guitars for Travel-Friendly Signature Model and Contributes to New Billy Idol Album

Guitarist Steve Stevens, long-time collaborator with Billy Idol, has partnered with Ciari Guitars to launch a signature foldable guitar aimed at solving the challenges musicians face when traveling with instruments. The Steve Stevens Signature Ascender is a high-quality electric guitar that can be folded and packed into a backpack, allowing it to fit in airplane overhead compartments or under seats. Designed with versatility in mind, the guitar includes custom pickups by Bare Knuckle Pickups and transparent backplates to showcase the internal wiring, emphasizing its premium build. Stevens highlighted its utility for musicians who compose and record while touring, even noting he has used it to record parts for others’ albums on the road. The collaboration began after Ciari’s CEO demonstrated the prototype at a Billy Idol rehearsal. In parallel, Stevens contributed as co-writer to all nine tracks on Idol’s latest album, ‘Dream Into It’, released under Dark Horse Records/BMG. The duo is set to embark on a global tour starting May 23, 2025, in Toronto, followed by a U.S. leg with Joan Jett kicking off in August. The story reflects Stevens’ innovation in gear design and enduring creative partnership with Idol spanning over four decades.
