Miley Cyrus Releases ‘Easy Lover’ Video Ahead of New Album and Short Film
Miley Cyrus has released the music video for her new single “Easy Lover,” featured on her ninth studio album, *Something Beautiful*, which launched on May 30, 2025. The video, co-directed by Cyrus alongside Jacob Bixenman and Brendan Walter, showcases a glamorous showgirl aesthetic, with scenes of Cyrus preparing backstage, dancing in a studio backlot, and performing with backup dancers. The lyrics touch on emotional vulnerability and the complexity of a challenging relationship.
The release coincides with the announcement of a short film connected to the album, also titled *Something Beautiful*. This visual project is described as a “pop opera” featuring all 13 songs from the album and is set to premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival on June 6, followed by a nationwide theater release on June 12. According to a press release, the album explores themes of healing, personal transformation, and discovering beauty amid darkness. Collaborations include high-profile artists Naomi Campbell and Brittany Howard.
During a recent fan event at the Chateau Marmont, Cyrus previewed songs from the album and hinted at a forthcoming experimental record, indicating that *Something Beautiful* is just the beginning of a new artistic era for her.
