Nick Mason’s Open Garden Event Introduces New Traffic Measures to Support Charity Fundraiser

Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason is preparing to welcome around 11,000 visitors to his annual Open Garden event at his 18th-century home near Corsham, Wiltshire, on June 7 and 8. The event, which showcases Mason’s impressive collection of Ferraris, supercars, and classic vehicles, attracts car enthusiasts from across the UK and beyond. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance Charity and the Wiltshire Bobby Van Trust, organizations supporting emergency medical services and home security for vulnerable residents.

In response to previous years’ traffic congestion, organizers have collaborated with Wiltshire Police, Wiltshire Council, and local landowners to create a new entry route for vehicles arriving from Chippenham. This change is intended to reduce queues and ease congestion, with additional AA signage to help divert non-event traffic. The event will also open an hour earlier than in previous years and feature more caterers to minimize food queues and offer a broader selection.

A highlight for 2024 is the attendance of the Wiltshire Air Ambulance’s Bell 429 helicopter and its crew, giving guests a unique opportunity to see the aircraft up close and meet emergency responders. Alongside the car displays, the event offers live music, food stalls, children’s activities, artisan shopping, and other entertainment. Last year, the event raised £124,000 for charity. Organizers express gratitude to Nick and Annette Mason for their ongoing support and generosity.
