Met Police drop investigation into Bob Vylan’s controversial concert remarks
The Metropolitan Police have decided to take no further action regarding alleged controversial remarks made by Bob Vylan’s lead singer, Pascal Robinson-Foster, during a concert in London earlier this year. The investigation was prompted after a video surfaced showing Robinson-Foster chanting ‘death to the IDF’ and making other inflammatory statements about the Israeli Defense Force (IDF) during a performance at Alexandra Palace in May. The police, after seeking advice from the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), concluded that there was insufficient evidence to pursue the case further. While the incident sparked concern within London’s Jewish communities, especially in light of rising antisemitic hate crimes, the police emphasized their ongoing commitment to community safety. This incident follows another investigation into similar chants during Bob Vylan’s appearance at the Glastonbury Festival in June. As a result of the controversy, the band was dropped from several upcoming festival lineups. The police have urged continued collaboration with community representatives to address concerns and ensure the safety of Jewish Londoners.
