Shakira and Other Concerts Cancelled at Fenway Park Due to Stage Safety Concerns

Shakira’s anticipated concert at Boston’s Fenway Park, part of her ‘Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran’ tour, was abruptly canceled on May 29, 2025, just hours before it was scheduled to begin. The cancellation was announced by Live Nation, citing ‘unforeseen circumstances.’ In addition to Shakira’s show, the May 30 concert featuring Jason Aldean and Brooks & Dunn at the same venue was also called off. According to a source speaking to Rolling Stone, the decision came after a routine safety inspection revealed structural deficiencies in the stage setup. Boston’s inspectional services department reportedly identified a serious safety issue that prevented final approval for the stage’s use. Both Live Nation and Fenway Concerts issued identical public statements confirming the cancellations and promising ticket refunds. Neither Shakira nor representatives for the other artists immediately commented on the matter. Shakira had expressed excitement about the Boston concert on social media and had teased guest appearances by Will.i.am and Wyclef Jean. The Fenway Park performance was supposed to be the inaugural show in the 2025 Fenway Concert Series, which is set to run through September. The tour will now continue on May 31 in Washington D.C., with Hozier, The Lumineers, and other major acts still scheduled to perform later in the summer.
