Family of Singer Angie Stone Sues Over Fatal Crash Involving Trucking Company and Manufacturer

The family of deceased hip-hop singer Angie Stone is suing CRST and Daimler Truck North America for a fatal crash that took place in March 2025. The lawsuit, filed in Georgia’s State Court of Gwinnett County, claims that negligence by the trucking company and the truck manufacturer caused Stone’s death. According to the legal complaint, the crash occurred on the morning of March 1st, 2025, after Stone and her band were involved in an initial crash in their van on Interstate 65 in Alabama. As they were exiting the overturned vehicle, a CRST tractor-trailer collided with the van, leading to Stone’s death and injuries to another passenger. The plaintiffs allege that the truck’s collision avoidance system failed, and the driver was not paying attention. They also argue that the truck’s automatic emergency braking system did not engage, making the crash unavoidable. Angie Stone, a well-known figure in the music industry, was best known for her 1999 hit “No More Rain (In This Cloud),” which topped Billboard’s Adult R&B charts. The case remains ongoing, with the manufacturers and trucking company yet to respond publicly.
