Stevie Wonder Vows to Keep Performing as Long as He Can

At the age of 75, Stevie Wonder shows no signs of slowing down. Despite peers like Billy Joel and The Eagles scaling back their musical commitments, Wonder has expressed his firm decision never to retire. Speaking to the BBC’s Sidetracked podcast, he said, ‘For as long as you breathe, for as long as your heart beats, there’s more for you to do.’ The legendary Motown artist, who has been a constant in the music industry since he was just 11 years old, confirmed he is still working on a new album titled ‘Through The Eyes Of Wonder.’ The album will reflect his experience as a blind person, marking his first studio release in nearly two decades. Wonder recently concluded a successful UK tour that earned glowing reviews for its joyful celebration of his vast music catalog. During a conversation before headlining the BST festival in Hyde Park, he reflected on the enduring power of his music, describing his songs as ‘children’ that stay with him forever. Wonder also addressed conspiracy theories about his blindness, emphasizing that his disability is a ‘gift’ that has allowed him to see the world in a unique light. Beyond music, Wonder continues to advocate for civil rights and social justice, recently speaking out against what he views as forces trying to push America backwards. He remains committed to using his platform for positivity and truth.
