The incident occurred on June 28, 2025, during the band’s performance on the West Holts Stage, where Bobby Vylan shouted ‘Death to the IDF’ in reference to the Israeli Defense Forces. The US State Department condemned the action, citing that foreigners who promote violence and hatred are not welcome in the country. Bob Vylan had planned a US tour in October 2025, but their visas were immediately canceled in light of the incident. The performance also sparked a review from UK authorities, including a statement from British Prime Minister Keir Starmer condemning the hate speech. The Israeli Embassy in the UK also expressed concern over the inflammatory rhetoric.
