Celine Dion to Resume Performing with 10 Shows in Paris This September
Canadian singer Celine Dion has announced her return to live performances after a long hiatus caused by her diagnosis of Stiff Person Syndrome, a rare autoimmune disorder. In a video message to fans on social media, the 58-year-old singer revealed that her health has improved and she is feeling well enough to perform again. Dion will take the stage for ten shows over five weeks at the Paris La Défense Arena, starting September 12, 2026. She expressed gratitude to her supporters, acknowledging the crucial role they played during her most difficult times and sharing that she is now even able to sing and dance. The announcement coincides with her birthday, which she called ‘the best gift’ she could receive. Stiff Person Syndrome, which can cause severe muscle stiffness, had previously forced Dion to cancel the remainder of her shows indefinitely. Despite this, she has remained determined to return to the stage, a journey documented in her 2024 film ‘I Am: Celine Dion.’ Her career, spanning several decades, includes over 260 million albums sold, five Grammy Awards, and international recognition beginning with her 1988 Eurovision Song Contest win representing Switzerland. Dion’s upcoming performances mark a significant milestone in her comeback and are highly anticipated by her global fanbase.
