Kneecap Cancels U.S. Tour Amid Terrorism Charges in the U.K.

The Northern Irish rap group Kneecap, known for their outspoken anti-Israel and pro-Palestinian political stance, has canceled their planned 15-show U.S. tour scheduled to begin October 1. The cancellation follows legal troubles for band member Liam Og O Hannaidh, aka Mo Chara, who faces terrorism charges in the U.K. for allegedly displaying a Hezbollah flag during a concert, an act considered illegal under British law as Hezbollah is recognized as a terrorist organization. The court ruling is expected on September 26. Kneecap described the legal proceedings as a ‘witch hunt’ and intends to resume touring following the outcome of their trial. Though the U.S. tour is canceled, their Canadian dates remain unaffected. Earlier in 2025, the group lost U.S. visa sponsorship after making anti-Israel comments during a festival performance. Despite controversies, Kneecap’s fanbase has grown, with energetic performances and political messaging drawing large festival crowds across Europe.
